lousuSi_piclou suSi creates experiences for virtual, online and analog, offline delivery. His intriguing interContextual mix of storytelling and cross-media design constantly makes and breaks ‘the box’ that comes up all too often in conversations about creativity.

By founding the evolving poetry and art online ezine BijaXOuS suPpleMeNte in 1999, lou initiated a lifelong relationship with the Web that includes both personal, expressive art-based—and straight-up, business-driven—Web site design and development.

lou: designs for the web as BXOS !nteractive!; collaboratively consults as most wanted consultants; and blogs as a social media commentator on Social Media North. He is also UX Manager and Lead Web Architect for Sallie Mae’s Web Strategy and Innovation Team, guiding key experience design initiatives for this world-renown brand in student loan originations, management, servicing and collections.

He teaches an incredible Interaction Design course each Summer Semester through MassArt’s Continuing Education Department { read more about IXD @ MassArt }. And his previous teaching engagements include web and design-related curriculum and coursework at: UMass Lowell, TechBoston, MassArt, Endicott College, SMFA and ArtScience Prize at Cloud Place.

On Thursday, February 13 of 2014 lou will present A storyFirst Approach to Human-Centered Design out at MassArt’s Thursday Night Lecture Series. The storyFirst Lecture will cover lou’s critical findings in design theory and practice as not only a means to guide daily professional design processes in a modernday corporate work environment but also as a personal lifedesign philosophy that can be leveraged to guide your way in life { through thoughtful, self-reflective, interdependent, metanarrative techniques to iteratively build toward a better tomorrow }.

lou received his BA from The University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 1992 and earned an MFA in Communication Design from Dynamic Media Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011. He curates live, interdisciplinary, cyberSurreal exhibit-events as the Bureau of cyberSurreal investigation. He founded and collaboratively composes and plays with the laugh performance group Laugh Foundation. He plays guitar and sings with the art rock orkestra Group of 9.
